I’ve recently attended the annual Bowerbird Baazar this year. The Bowerbird Baazar is a design market showcasing the individual talents of independent stores and designers. The baazar features clothing, jewellery, food, furniture, artwork, skincare, even garden decors from local and instate small businesses.
The market was held at the Adelaide Showgrounds, a venue not too far out from the CBD. The hall was decked out in fairy lights, which made it feel so magical. Walking along the aisles I felt inspired to pursue something creative. I was just amazed at all of the hard work each of the individual stalls and owners put into their respective businesses.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take as many photos as would have liked due to the bustling crowds.
Being in a design market. I couldn’t help but buy a few products to support the small businesses plus they were so cute, I couldn’t resist.
From She Eats Paper, I bought a few Christmas cards ($5 each).
Click on the gallery below to view close ups of the pictures on the cards.
From Nowhere Creek I purchased a tea towel ($24 each). It’s so cute! Nowhere Creek has a lot of funky designs that are cute and quirky.
From ELM Paper, I bought gift tags ($4 per pack). These I think were most practical out of the ones they offered as they had the “TO:” and “FROM:” at the back of the tags.
And finally from Anrol Designs I bought a 2015 calendar ($10) as a gift for one of my friends.
To see some of the sayings in the calendar browse through the gallery below.
I did have the opportunity to speak to Daisy Chain.
Daisy Chains is a small family business that makes flower crowns, flower headbands and floral accessories. If I must say so myself they are gorgeous.
It is run by a mother-daughter duo who took on the flower headband trend to make it their own. They create beautiful headbands for all personalities. From the feminine, the edgy and to the wild at heart.
I resisted the urge to buy one on the spot since I have so many but I think I’ll head online to their store to buy one. After all, who can say so no to wearable flowers? They’ve released their summer spring 2014 collection /cue squeal/.
Have I mentioned that you’re able to customise your own flower chain, floral headband or floral accessories?
